The Best Year Ever?

We're back!  After what has been a mix of just about everything the weather gods can throw at us, Waipu Painters have returned to the fro' ready, willing and able to tackle all the painting jobs Bream Bay can throw at us in 2016!  2015 finished very strongly for us with an unprecedented number of new homes being built in the area and an ever growing number of retirees moving here for good, followed by young couples being forced out of the Auckland market.  

It will be very interesting to see what happens with the inflated house prices in Auckland.  Will people continue to pay ever increasing prices?  It has to stop somewhere!  We are happy to take the overflow up here with plenty of good house and land sites available for a fraction of the cost of Auckland and plenty of tradesmen looking to grow their businesses.  Only time will tell and if the past is anything to go by (and it usually is!) then we could be in for an absolute CRACKER!!!

All the best for the year ahead and don't forget the sunscreen!

Today we plan to have a picnic by the river.

Here are the girls up the mountain in front of a waterfall yesterday. We spent a delightful hour exploring the little stream below, it was surrounded by mountain buttercups and fascinating wee alpine plants.

it was lovely to celebrate your 80th with our family on Sunday😃

School holidays continue......

and the school holidays roll on!  The girls have been to visit both sets of NZ grandparents in the last fortnight, and we have enjoyed assorted trips to the pools, beach, movies and malls!  Their friends have been here for various days to play as well.  The weather continues to smile on us, it has been a truly wonderful summer so far.
