Boring Home Stuff
It seems pretty quiet here with all the visitors gone. Just one week of the holidays left, it feels like the fastest summer ever, Phil keeps berinding me that it's not over yet! So here's some of the boring home stuff that happens in between getting married and going to concerts.
Wayne the Farmer and his helper Roland came and mowed our paddock for hay, they had a pretty big tractor.
We took the kids to Ding bay for the afternoon, it's the next beach along from Langs. We love these limestone rocks, the patterns they make as they erode are really fascinating. The tree in the top of the picture is a pohutukawa for Aunty Sarah.
Big Day Out
Big Thanks to Oma Ali and Opa John for looking after the kids so we could go to the Big Day Out this year. Highlights were Shihad, Ramstein, and the Bloody Beetroots in the Boiler Room. We went with Karen's cousin Delia and her husband Jonah, and his sister Shannon and her girlfriend Josephine. Karen, Delia and Jonah
Karen made some new friends
and Phil made some new friends too.
It rained a bit in the afternoon, but we managed not to get too wet...
At the end of Ramstein huge cannons shot smoke into the air and blew confetti out over the crowd as fireworks went off. The coloured lights shone through the tiny bits of paper and it looked a bit like Christmas in the park in New York :-)
We spent a bit of time in the silent disco. There are two DJs playing different music, you can choose which one you hear by changing the channel on the headphones so some of the people are dancing to one kind of music and some are dancing to something different. From outside you can see all the people dancing but you can't hear anything.

January week 1 and 2
Wow, a busy start to the new year. We were married on Jan 10th at one of our favourite local beaches. Thankyou so much to all the lovely friends and family who came to help us celebrate. We've had a fantastic couple of weeks just hanging out with everyone and I feel quite sad now we have farewelled the last of our visitors.
In typical Karen style I've been too busy talking and laughing to remember to take photos so I'm relying on all those clever happy snappers to fill in the gaps. Renee has promised me some proper wedding photos as well so I'll post those when I get them :-)
Until then I have this great photo of Phil's mate Perry who came over from Australia.
And this one of Lily tending her garden
and Ali, Lily and Gabriel lounging on the lawn.
