Keeping The Home Fires Burning

Nail Polish Day!

Amazing what you can do with a tub of slime!
No holding back for Lily's Leap!
Well It's Spring now so we're a wee bit past having fires but back home things have been rolling on while Karen and Oma Ali continue to enjoy their hard earned European sojourn.  For the most part the girls (Ali and Lily) have been little gems, missing their Mother terribly and adapting courageously to the slightly different way Dad does things!  The past few days have been particularly difficult with some kind of virus striking down the two of them and whilst Lily has recovered (apart from a rash that covered her body first and now her face!), Ali is very slow to return to her usual self.  They have had Thursday and Friday off school which Ali wasn't very happy about but Lily looked about ready to call her friends and invite them to a party!  I am just hoping that Ali is well enough to start school again on Monday as my workload is increasing.  We have had some fun during Mum's and Oma's absence too.  We have been to the beach on a beautiful day when the girls swam and jumped into a deep rockpool.  We went to Opa John's to watch Rugby and hangout and the girls got another overdose of two-dollar extravaganzas!   We have been to the markets buying fruit and veges and presents.  We have been playing games at home and watching some really good family DVD's too.  We are so very grateful to Opa John and our friends for looking after the girls after school so Dad can put in the hours at work and we are really looking forward to the day Mum and Oma Ali come home and we can all be together again!
